ALAAB HUN. This is by Anne-Maree Hunter. So far, I think it is my favourite.
I loved this book! It absorbed me for ages, opening and closing it, and setting it up, making it bigger and smaller. It is a real tactile experience. I tried to make something like, and that kept me entertained for hours as well. I recommend viewing this book for a real Artist Book experience.
It has been digitised in the catalogue, so you can see it before you see it. It is a tall round table, that is printed and overprinted with habitations of humans over the ages, and different stages of the development of writing, and writing in different cultures.
The Artist Book is an object that may be a book or it may resemble a book, or may just be a piece of art that reminds one of a book. These are housed at the State Library of Queensland, Brisbane.

The Artist Book Collection
The best way to find the Artist Book Collection is to go to the State Library and go the 4th Floor. Then I ask a librarian for the book of Artist Book titles that they keep on the counter. It has a comb binding. Then stick a title into the catalogue, and wait for it to come out of the stack.
Artist Books in Brisbane
This blog will be specifically about the Artist Books housed at the State Library of Queensland. They form a collection of their own on the 4th floor where the Heritage Collections are.
When I first found these books, I was quite unsatisfied with the way that the catalogue handled them. Hopefully this will make it somewhat easier for me to remember what I've seen. Maybe even for you to find them again.
